What That Means for You

Working with Marais isn’t about being directed through your day. It’s about being allowed to move through it naturally , without interruption, without pressure, without performance.

You don’t need to know where to stand.
You don’t need to wonder what to do with your hands.
You don’t need to feel “on” for the camera.

The experience is intentionally calm, observant, and unhurried, so you can stay present while everything unfolds.

I'm drawn to the in-Between...

The way i work

[ book with Marais ]

the seconds after laughter fades, the way hands rest when no one is posing them, the small shifts that happen when a room exhales.

Rather than directing every moment, I pay attention to what’s already happening. When to step forward. When to step back. When to let something unfold untouched.

This approach leaves room for honesty,  and for photographs that feel familiar, even years later.

Things That Shape My Work

Drawn to morning light and late dinners

Always scouting quiet corners and open windows

Prefers observing over directing

Truly finding inspiration everywhere

Easygoing and detail-oriented

Always down to "do it for the plot"

Part of my work has always been about movement — following light, seasons, and stories wherever they happen to unfold. Some places I return to year after year. Others find me unexpectedly.

If your celebration happens somewhere meaningful to you, there’s a good chance I’ll already be on my way.

Who is Marais For?

[ i'm ready to book ]

Marais tends to resonate with people who value presence over performance. People who care less about perfection and more about remembering how the day felt.

If you’re drawn to imagery that feels natural, unforced, and honest, you’re in the right place and I can't wait to meet you.
